The wiiw KLEMS data repository

This is the reference page (starting in 2022) for selected growth and productivity data run by the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw). The wiiw Growth and Productivity Data (GPD) provide measures of growth and productivity developments. Specifically, it includes data on contributions to value added and labour productivity growth at the industry level (NACE Rev.2 Sections) for all European Union member states based on data available from Eurostat downloaded at 13/12/2022. Data have been compiled as part of the H2020 project UNTANGLED.

This data succeeds previous EU KLEMS releases (Archive & History). However, due to methodological revisions and data availability issues this data are not compatible and should not be linked with the previous versions. It is intended that updates are provided on a regular basis which might also include further extensions.

An overview and summary of construction issues and methodology is provided Stehrer & Sabouniha (2023), wiiw Growth and Productivity Data. When using the data, please cite this source.

The wiiw GPD database serves as an important input to policy evaluation, in particular for the assessment of competitiveness and economic growth potential as established by the Lisbon and Barcelona summit goals.

The data are freely available and are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International-license. To access the data please go to Query Data.
